Final Installation Part 6

I have been working on the doors the last 2 weekends

Got both doors relatively even and the same

I was able to line up all of the major body lines

No windows in yet, that's next

I only rough fit the doors, no gaps have been set

Only fitted the doors so that they did not bind when they opened and they were smooth

PASSANGERS SIDE

Front clip latch removal

Decided that the latch for the front clip needed to go

after marking center line, added an aluminum plate

then added curved aluminum pieces to for the structure

added mesh and body filler to form the outer structure

final coat eliminating the front clip latches

Final Installation Part 5

I have been working every weekend over the last few months finalizing electrical

Finished all main electrical, Switches, and dash

Changed the Dash arrangement, again, to support a double D steering wheel

Now work starts on the body and the doors

Created a body jig to be able to raise and lower the body easily

I can adjust the body by my self or with another person makes it easy to manipulate the body

With the body on, I'm finally able to verify the firewall fitment edge to edge

I have about a 1/16th inch gap between the firewall and the body

I bought a thin rubber trim for panels and thought it was going to be to thin but will work perfectly

With the body down and flush my wheels are nicely centered in the wheel wells with no adjustment

Also had first drive today, my dad wanted one also so I videoed him

Body Work Continues

More body work happening. The front primed for additional sanding

Side window replaced with NACA Ducts
These will be used as the cold air intake for the engine
An inline air filter will be connected as well as a screen to keep
large pieces out. NACA Ducts were attached using 3M Panel Bonding Epoxy

Rear view also showing the exhaust cutouts and the rear wheel vents

Body Work Starts

Started the body work, actually our friend Ray did.Sanding everything and fixing the join seams. There are definitely quality control problems in the molds. A few of the parts were not shaped properly and we even found a hole in the fiberglass at the front of the body that, if not fixed, would have cracked through.

We filled in the front emblem to create a smooth look.
The lower fog lights will be converted to air intake ducts for the front brakes.

The hood louvers will be filled with the ones from vraptorspeedworks as well as the front grill

The underside has been coated with Second Skin Spectrum using a undercoating gun

The same Second Skin Spectrum has been used on the entire underside of the body
Extra has been sprayed into the wheel wells for extra protection

This gives the body sound dampening as well as strength. It also has heat resistance and viscoelasticity to prevent breakage

Here is the hole in the front

The front corners are so thin that this happened

Here is the corner before being reinforced
